Investigative journalist kicks off new series of events

The London Press Club held its first media networking night at Shoreditch House on 24th June. With Mirror journalist Ryan Parry as keynote speaker, and over 150 guests, the event was buzzing with people from the media world.  These included journalists from national and regional publications including The Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, London Paper and Financial Times, as well as freelance journalists and others from the media world. 30 places were also filled by journalism students at City University.

Ryan, who won the LPC Scoop of the Year award in 2006 for his investigative journalism -posing as a footman at Buckingham Palace - kicked the night off with a fascinating talk. He told the guests what it is like to work on a busy, national paper and amused the group of fellow journalists with stories of his quest to find new stories.

The series of networking nights has been organised as a tri-monthly event, with each event being held at an exclusive venue, with a high profile speaker. For more information, contact the LPC office.
